WATER BABES #1 is part of a series inspired by the profound weightlessness of water, to the way it softens the heaviness of the world and dissolves the borders of the body. Each painting is born from the dream of floating like a sea creature: untethered, held, and at peace.
In water, the body loses its weight, yet paradoxically, we feel everything more vividly. Every shift of a muscle, every ripple against the skin is magnified. It is a space where the body is mass-less but never numb, light but in its entire fullness.
ThroughWATER BABES, I explore this paradox: the surrender of gravity alongside the heightened awareness of the self. These works are a tribute to the wish to merge with water, to dissolve into its embrace, and to find stillness in motion.
